Job Description
Title: Director of Network Engineering and Telecom (80% / 20%)
Location: Chicago / Rosemont, IL
Onsite 4X a week / Travel 10-20% regional
Salary: $180-200K + Bonus + Other
No sponsorship available This role will provide technical and strategic leadership for the global network and web infrastructure services. The candidate will be responsible for the development and operations of the global network, operations, and performance of web services, associated process life cycles (incident, problem, release, and change management) and will participate in strategic planning, development, and implementation of corporate roadmap. This role will interact with all levels of the organization, including Corporate Management, Senior IT Management, development, functional and technical staff, external vendors, and third-party IT service providers to develop and communicate strategies, standards, operational plans, and processes.
key responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and provide technical direction to a global team of direct and matrix reports responsible for network services.
  • This includes, but is not limited to WAN, LAN, Wireless, Unified Communications, Web, VPN, and Telecommunication services.
  • Mobilizing and lead operational managed services, NOC, and circuit aggregators.
  • Provide global and regional network infrastructure services and support to Regal locations based on global standards.
  • Participate in the development of IT strategy, roadmap design, and standards definition.
  • Works across the IT and Business Unit organizations to obtain buy-in and adoption of IT processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities and development of IT network infrastructure and site associates supporting the network.
  • Develop and provide appropriate metrics to show alignment and compliance to network objectives, IT goals, budget, and SOX processes.
  • Optimize the use of IT software and hardware investments to provide a standard global environment.
  • Manage key vendors relationships with carriers and suppliers, influence their product strategy, and insures alignment with service level agreements, lead contract renewals and RFPs.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related discipline
  • 8 – 12 years of experience in an IT service-related management position
  • 8 – 15 years of experience in global networking and telecommunications including WAN, LAN, VPN, Wireless, Cellular, and Unified Communications
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in web performance management
  • Strong ability to quickly learn new information system technology.
  • Strong organization and multi?tasking skills
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to think big and scale quickly.
  • Leadership of telecommunications efforts for M&A activity
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to establish trust, credibility, and rapport at all levels of the organization; seen as humble, direct, and authentic.
Understand the current state of operations for WAN, LAN, Wireless, Unified Communications, VPN, Telecommunication and Web services.Select and mobilize partnership for circuit aggregation and 24x7 NOC while achieving targeted financial savings.Analyze operating plan expectations and develop resource plan to enable attainmentCreate and drive improvement to operational metrics focused on circuit latency and availability.Architect and deploy enterprise solutions for segmentation and SDWanDefine and gain approval for enterprise voice strategy
