This team member of the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) team is imbedded within a Community Support Team and is responsible for providing substance abuse counseling, interventions and education to clients with severe and persistent mental illness as well as co-occurring substance use disorders. The Integrated Treatment Specialist (ITS) will be responsible for assessing each client’s stage of change, using motivational interviewing, and stage wise interventions to assist client in living successfully and to their satisfaction in the community. The ITS will also be responsible for facilitating therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for clients enrolled in the IDDT program. The ITS will not only work closely with consumers but will also work to involve natural supports in the client’s treatment. This team member will work with the Program Director to monitor and promote IDDT fidelity and outcomes. The hours of employment may vary depending on the needs of the clients, including possible evenings and weekends. This position requires transporting clients in personal automobile and assisting clients in a variety of community settings and neighborhoods.
Licensure, Certification and/or Registration
Must have and maintain Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) or Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diploma (CCDP-D) or other qualifying substance use treatment credential.
