Job Description: A Pharmaceutical/Chemical company seeks a Sales Deputy Director.SummaryThis position is responsible for managing the sales and business development for specialty chemicals in the U.S.,Canada and Mexico in order to maximize the sales and profit of the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Must have more than 3 years of chemical sales experience.Primary Job Functions :o Manages Customer Relationships by reviewing and evaluating sales and marketing plans for key products;by maintaining close communication with key customer management and sales and marketing staff tobuild strong, long-lasting customer relationships; by monitoring sales performance and gaining real timemarket knowledge; by ensuring smooth ordering and product fulfillment; by determining the causes of and resolving issues in a timely manner; and by providing clear understanding and communication to the NAIbased Japanese specialty chemicals staff and to affiliates.o Leads in Identifying and Selecting New customers to Expand Business in the United States and Canada by designing and implementing strategic business plans for potential new business; by adhering toinstructions from Nippon Soda Company, Ltd. To grow PB, TODI, Organic Titanium, and Sodium businesses; by identifying potential future distributors; by holding meetings to determine the best candidate for our new products; by negotiating key contracts and agreements; by executing all necessary agreements to begin the business; and by advising Senior Management on needed actions.o Manages Marketing and Sales Strategies by preparing marketing and sales strategies for existing andfuture candidate products in development by Nippon Soda Company Ltd.; by reviewing publications andtrade journals; by communicating with suppliers and customers to determine what is occurring in keymarkets; by attending key trade shows and conferences to obtain updated market information and torepresent NAI.o Participates in Corporate Budgetary Process by preparing the yearly sales budget for the company.specialty chemicals business; by determining yearly production, sales and inventory levels to determinefuture sales opportunities; by ensuring adequate purchase and production occurs to meet future marketdemands; by managing costs and increasing revenues; by assessing year-end budgetary results; and byadvising Senior Management on needed actions.o Supports sales administration and logistics functions by sharing with logistics coordinators customerinformation, supplier invoices, prices, contracts (cost control), special shipping requirements, and any other information needed to ensure on-time shipments and accurate deliveries.o Complies with Federal, State/Provincial, and Local Laws and Regulations Requirements related to thespecialty chemical products by studying existing and new regulations; adhering to requirements;ensuring compliance; monitors and analyzes relevant regulatory and product-related information andprovides notification to management of the possible impact to the Company's business.Secondary Job Functions :o Keeps Management Informed by submitting weekly reports; by participating in meetings; and by reporting problems to Senior Management verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and further problems; and by recommending changes for improvements in the Company's functions to Senior Management.o Train Staff by providing market knowledge to NAI specialty chemicals staff; and by training Staff whennecessary on the detailed workings of the US and Canadian specialty chemicals business, consisting of both detailed distribution and customer knowledge as well as the detailed market review of products and past that comprise the products for the US market.Common Job Functions :o Attends Quarterly Staff Meeting.o Contributes to the Team Effort by being flexible in work assignments; by covering for other Staff asneeded; and by accomplishing related tasks when requested.o Maintains Professional and Technical Knowledge by attaining job-related certifications; by keeping up on industry trends; and by applying that knowledge to the job.o Acts on Constructive Feedback by being open to feedback from peers, Supervisors, and clients; and byusing the feedback to improve performance.o Improves Processes by examining departmental work processes, research procedures, administrativeprocedures, etc.; and by recommending changes where appropriate.o Upholds Work Standards by maintaining professional conduct and appearance; by realizing one’s ownlimitations and seeking assistance when needed; and by using established communication channels.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Experience in the businessrelated to sodium metal and/or polymer preferred.Language Skills :o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, forms and instructions in English.o Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English. Salary: 130k + bonus
