Shipping Clerk

Action Group Staffing has partnered with a marketing printing company to obtain a quality shipping and receiving clerk.

Compensation: $15-$17 depending on experience

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process parcel and freight orders
• Receive inbound deliveries
• Pick, pack and process parcel shipments
• Operate manifest system
• Ensure orders are scheduled and picked are completed and picked up by carrier
• Pick, build, wrap and band palletized orders
• Prepare the LTL shipments by comparing rate quotes, generating BOLs, scheduling freight pickups and processing order paperwork
• Process purchase order receiving transactions
• Physically receive, verify, identify, stage and sort inbound shipments.
• Occasionally quote and schedule inbound freight carriers
• Compare part numbers, counts, weights, and measurements for items of outgoing shipments
• Coordinate pickup with carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and others
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Participate in regular cycle inventory counts
• Maintain clean and orderly shipping area, inventory placement, and warehouse condition
• Operate forklift
• Communicate and work well with others

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Able to write simple correspondence
• Able to effectively present information in small group situations
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Able to compute rate, ratio, percent, draw and interpret bar graphs
• Good problem-solving skills
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
