Job Description
Legal Assistant

AcreTrader is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide administrative, compliance, and operational support to our in-house corporate legal team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as an executive assistant, legal secretary, administrator, or paralegal with experience supporting corporate governance and compliance, real estate or financial transactions, and/or contract review and preparation. This role demands strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file formation, registration, and dissolution requests for all types of corporate entities

  • Obtain EINs and other qualifications in applicable state jurisdictions for various entities

  • Track franchise filing requirements for corporate entities and prepare annual/biennial reports as mandated

  • Manage department calendar and individual attorney’s schedules, including the scheduling of all meetings for Corporate and General Counsel

  • Oversee departmental quarterly goals and own the outcomes by facilitating check-ins with appropriate staff

  • Assign incoming project requests to appropriate team members and manage communication with third-party stakeholders

  • Update accounting software with all legal receipts and payment verifications

  • Manage compliance deadlines relating to securities filings and assist with the preparation and submission of such filings

  • Prepare, transmit, and record documentation relating to investment acquisition, transfer, and dispositions

Key Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Resourceful research and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat

  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and a good sense of humor

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Hubspot, Asana, or related CRM applications

  • Familiarity with real property transactional matters
