Job Description

We are actively recruiting an Associate General Counsel who will work with the Acquco M&A team to provide drafting, negotiating and other corporate legal counsel in a variety of acquisitions across the ecommerce industry. This is a critical role that provides counsel to senior management on acquisitions and key company initiatives. The successful candidate will lead the legal function at Acquco and coordinate across all company functions to evaluate legal risks, provide advice and help drive the business. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead M&A team on transactions and deal management including drafting and negotiating NDAs, letters of intent and definitive transaction agreements

  • Draft, negotiate, and control workflow in connection with multiple simultaneous acquisitions

  • Oversee and participate in due diligence; support closing transactions and post-closing integration

  • Possess working knowledge of all Acquco business lines and the legal issues associated with them

  • Review and negotiate commercial agreements for Acquco and all of its owned brands

  • Provide general support and advice on corporate structure and subsidiary management

  • Support other business and legal needs across other functions within Acquco, as necessary


  • JD from an accredited law school and member, in good standing, of at least one US state bar, preferably New York

  • 3-6 years of relevant corporate law firm experience, including experience with mergers and acquisitions

  • Ideal candidates will have strong skills in drafting and negotiating transaction documents and handling day-to-day demands and workflow requirements of a variety of acquisitions

  • Must have excellent deal management capabilities, strong written and verbal communication skills, powerful analytical abilities and ability to work collaboratively as a team member

  • Highly organized with critical attention to details, along with good time and priority task management

  • Positive, self-motivated individual with a high level of enthusiasm and willingness to continue to learn and incorporate coaching and instructions into daily tasks and assignments

The annual base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000
