  • Provide guidance on regulatory and legislative matters (OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, WC) and assist the Safety & Health Manager with government compliance inspections and activities.
  • Help coordinate and manage the plant’s safety and industrial hygiene programs.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with other legislative and regulatory standards and requirements such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, personal protective equipment, machine guarding, electrical safety, etc.
  • Lead & participate in safety and ergonomic committee meetings
  • Assist engineering with new and modified equipment design reviews and approval, risk assessments on new and modified equipment, ventilation and preventive maintenance issues.
  • Keep abreast of the latest in safety/injury prevention management techniques and develop and implement new processes to improve safety and health efforts such as: line driven safety, OSHA VPP Star, auditing programs etc.
  • Help to develop, coordinate and oftentimes provide the mandatory education/training required by OSHA and other government agencies.
  • Provide support and information to corporate safety, legal, labor relations, risk management, manufacturing, engineering, medical and human resources as directed and needed.

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for promoting and supporting the facilities line-driven safety process while also assisting plant management in achieving their safety and business objectives. The Safety Coordinator will also be responsible for preventing occupational injury or illness related losses and minimizing future liabilities by evaluating risks and establishing appropriate loss control/reduction activities.

CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or other professional related Safety certifications Project Management Skills Fire System Safety and Knowledge Industrial Hygiene experience Preferred
