Director of Talent Acquisition - VP of HR - Remote / Work From Home

$120,000 - $170,000/YR

Achieve acts as a counselor, advocate, and partner helping students achieve their degree in less time, with less effort, and for less money utilizing an alternative path to earning college credit known as the credit-by-examination process. Essentially, Achieve helps students bypass all of the busywork associated with taking certain college courses the traditional way, by instead passing just one test-out exam. While our credit-by-examination programs can shorten the path to any degree at virtually any college, the field where we have the greatest impact is the nursing profession.

The role

As the Director of Talent Acquisition/VP of HR, you will own a critical piece of our organization which comprises Achieve Test Prep, Smarter with Achieve and We Are Working. You will be responsible for staffing a variety of positions across our three business lines, with talent from around the globe. In addition to acquiring talent, you will ensure the effectiveness of the HR department and its related processes while also leading HR initiatives for continual improvement and employee retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit top talent - While you’ll have a team of recruiters by your side, you’ll roll up your sleeves and recruit alongside them for the more critical roles.
  • Develop a strategic plan by working with department heads to analyze current and future business goals. Identify gaps, recommend solutions, and implement initiatives
  • Develop and implement an effective employer branding strategy to target, attract, and recruit candidates.
  • Develop and execute efficient candidate pipelines as well as the implementation of talent acquisition systems and other tools and technologies to aid recruiting efforts.
  • Manage and develop a team of recruiters who will understand how to review trends, research competitive salary intelligence, and obtain global talent demographic
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Expertise in the development of recruiting processes, procedures, and creative sourcing strategies, as well as the implementation of talent acquisition systems and other tools and technologies to aid recruiting efforts.
  • Ability to lead a team of direct reports within the HR department and/or project teams.
  • Effective prioritization, time management, organizational skills, and ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and good judgment, and capability of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Proven experience in creating and leading talent acquisition strategies and keeping abreast of the most effective and efficient technology in the industry.
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies. and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate where appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Google Drive.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of talent acquisition / recruiting experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with a focus in business or another relevant discipline required.
  • 3+ years of human resource management experience preferred but not required
  • Experience recruiting outside the US is a plus but not required
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or PHR credential preferred.
  • SHRM's Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential is a plus.
