DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
 
SUMMARY:  You will be based in the corporate office in Tempe, AZ and report to the company President. You will be responsible for the management of the human resource teams in four locations to manage the systems and practices for multi-state organization within a company of with less than 1000 employees.  You will be a contributing member of the global HR team. As part of the company culture, executives work alongside direct reports to foster company-wide team involvement. As a member of senior leadership, serve as a strategic business partner to establish human resources priorities and influence human resources strategies in support of corporate and business objectives. Provide counsel on policy and procedure interpretation, recruiting and retention strategies, employee relations issues, and guidance on any other HR-related issues. 
 
Hours: Mon - Fri - 7 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (some hybrid)
 Pay: $120-$150K + bonus
 Location: Tempe, AZ

DUTIES
  • Work side-by-side with Regional HR Mangers on all HR Department functions. You will be a contributing member of the global HR team.
  • Fosters hands-on approach in working with Regional HR Managers.
  • Recommend new approaches, programs, policies and procedures in areas of talent acquisition, diversity & inclusion, employee relations, engagement, and staff retention that effect continual improvements in productivity and development of human resources corporately while sustaining local cultures of individual sites.
  • Provide consultation to management and oversight for the day-to-day management, planning, development and administration of all human resources operations including compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, training, etc.
  • Oversee the maintenance of records, facilitating timely and accurate responses to regulatory inquiries and management 
  • Direct leaders and staff on human resources programs, policies, and activities in all three locations; negotiate and resolve sensitive and controversial issues. Coach and mentor at all levels of the organization to increase effectiveness in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and people development.
  • Plan and lead short- and long-term planning for talent acquisition, overseeing recruitment efforts in all locations for high level positions.
  • Active involvement in HR Department workload, hiring/termination, performance reviews, orientation and professional development of HR team.
  • Recruitment for various positions within the corporate office. 
  • Handle complex staff relation issues by conducting investigations, addressing leadership concerns regarding employee relations and mediating differences between staff and management.
  • Background check required.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree required and preferred certifications in human resources.
  • 10 or more years' experience at the director level in Human Resources.
  • Prior Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Prior international experience a plus and any Mexico experience preferred.
  • Some domestic travel required a few to several times per year.
  • Proficient in tracking metrics using HRIS programs and methods.
  • Strong Employee Relations and conflict management experience.
  • Advanced experience in employee benefits management.
  • Advanced experience in compensation management.
  • Knowledge of federal and location labor laws.
  • Direct management of the Human Resource department and oversee HR Managers in other locations.
  • Experience creating policies and procedures within a division.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion on all significant matters within a division.
  • Departmental area fiscal responsibility.
  • Experience integrating core values, integrity, and accountability throughout all organizational and business practices.
  • Understanding of labor laws, ERISA, Safe Harbor.
  • Background check required.
