Accent Controls, Inc. (ACI) is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Warehouse Specialist, supporting the Logistics Readiness Center, located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan.
The non-exempt job classification is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) and the contract's collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f), unless otherwise modified by a CBA between labor and management.
SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties along with providing customer assistance on Government interoffice moves at the Detroit Arsenal and off-site locations. Work involves verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies/damages, routing incoming deliveries to specific building locations at the Detroit Arsenal, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods. They process items for delivery to specific building locations where customers are located. Work also involves shipping duties which includes verifying that shipping documents are complete and accurate, ensuring that shipments are properly palletized and packaged, making sure that the shipments are loaded properly on transporting vehicles, and preparing and keeping records of all items/vehicles/materials shipped from the Detroit Arsenal to specified locations either in the United States or foreign countries. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERINCE: Must possess a high-school diploma or GED. Must have the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Must be able to comprehend what they read and put that knowledge on paper. Must be verbally adept to communicate with co-workers, Government customers, and management. Must be able to communicate with outside carriers when they bring or take material from the warehouse.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The Warehouse Specialist is required to be in very good physical condition. They must be able to perform the following physical activities: kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The need to be able to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing. Need to be able to lift at least 70 lbs. They also must deal with indoor and outdoor weather conditions daily.
