Job Description
Acara Solutions (formerly Superior Group) is one of the Country's largest aerospace staffing services organizations. Their long time aerospace client in Everett has a direct salaried full benefits Buyer 3 opening. The employee is expected to work onsite the majority of the time. The salary range is $70K
- $90K.

Under the direction of the Materials Manager and Purchasing Leads, this position shall be responsible for the procurement of designated materials, supplies and equipment for operations to meet purchasing demands.  The Buyer 3  position will coordinate with inventory management and use materials management and inventory control principles and techniques to maintain accurate inventory levels and to meet the needs of the business. 
The Buyer 3 will leverage world
-class negotiation and sourcing strategies, tools and processes, and mitigate risk.

  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials 
  • Evaluate supplier information and analyze quotes to determine best total value
  • Place purchase orders with suppliers 
  • Resolve blocked invoices as a result of pricing errors
  • Contribute to the achievement of Procurement Services and Supply Chain goals and initiatives as identified
  • Demonstrate and promote ethical behavior in dealing with external and internal business situations
  • Assist in providing buyer coverage as needed
  • Coordinate with materials team, management and production areas as required
  • Ensure shortage risks are being communicated to production and management
  • Follow requirements for PPV and provide justification as necessary 
  • Formulate short and long term strategies to ensure quality and continuity of part supply
  • Perform Make / Buy Analysis on higher level assemblies 
  • Negotiate long term contract
    - pricing agreements with suppliers
  • Develop and maintain suppliers who share in company"s ideals of total quality, as well as continuous improvement on part and service quality, delivery performance and total cost
  • Conduct Performance Readiness Assessment with Suppliers 
  • Present project status or other data to functional managers and occasionally to senior management 
  • Focal point for root cause / corrective action" assigned to suppliers


Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (in Supply Chain Management or similar ideal) and 5 years of purchasing experience or an Associate's degree with 8 years of related experience.
Min 5 years of buyer related experience within an aerospace or medical device manufacturing environment that includes exposure to the majority of the following: contract negotiations, logistics, materials management, inventory and/or warehousing (experience should include sourcing project leadership or project management)
Min 3 years of experience sourcing complex manufacturer parts
Min 1 year of experience with ERP software tools (e.g., Epicor, SAP)
Min 2 years of experience purchasing contract manufactured parts / assemblies 
Min 5 years of experience working with MS Office and/or other software tools (e.g., databases, spreadsheets)

This is an ITAR facility, U.S. Persons Required

Preferred: 
CPSM, CPIM
Lean manufacturing environment 
Six Sigma background
  • Contract Negotiations
  • Demonstrate experience in contract writing or amendment
  • Proficiency with writing process documentation and work standards
  • Demonstrated experience with transfer of work to a new source
  • Reading / analyzing of technical drawings
