Job Description
Acara Solutions has a client with an immediate need in Davenport, Iowa for a Buyer II role. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team and will plan, schedule and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle and will determine required materials purchases. 
 
Principal Duties and :
 
  1. Procure a variety of goods and services in accordance with company policies in an MRP/ERP environment. 
  2. Review and issue purchase
    -orders and make necessary changes to include: obtaining quotes, negotiating costs, payment terms, and related issues. 
  3. Expedite and track required parts or processes to support production schedules. 
  4. Will be expected to execute engineering changes within the plant and with external suppliers. 
  5. Serve as liaison between internal customers and suppliers. 
  6. Assist in resolving supplier related quality issues. 
  7. Expected to mentor less experienced buyers and internal customers. 
  8. Perform duties in accordance with FAR, DFAR, and other government regulations in accordance with company policies and procedures. 
  9. Occasional travel is required. 
  10. Perform all duties according to prescribed safety, health, and environmental principles. 
  11. Ability to work well in team environment. 
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.




Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor"s degree plus 2 years" experience in manufacturing environment, or an Associate"s degree plus 4 years" experience in a manufacturing environment, or High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus 7 years" experience in a manufacturing environment 
3+ Years negotiating experience 
3+ Years purchasing experiencing in a manufacturing environment 


Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

Bachelor"s degree in one of the following areas: Business, Finance, or Supply Chain 
  1. Professional certifications (i.e. APICS, ISM, etc.) 
  2. Working knowledge of ERP or MRP Systems 
  3. Experience reading blueprints 
  4. Documented MS Office experience: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  5. Demonstrated verbal, written, and presentation skills
