OVERVIEW

The owner of one of the top 5 rated Internet Student Loan Companies is looking for a “hands-on” financial / banking entrepreneur, strategist to assist him in expanding his small four year old company of 18 employees.

He is looking for an E-Commerce financial "Visionary" who has worked for a Financial Tech, Credit Card or E-Commerce company where they had a major role is expanding the business. This person will double as both the financial executive and strategy advisor to the company's owner.

The owner is looking for a person who will challenge him when needed as well as partner with him going forward. “Yes” man and women should not apply.

Position: E-Commerce Chief Financial Officer

Company: Our client is a FinTech business founded in 2014. They develop and manage online student loan platforms and services for financial institutions. Our client supports its lender clients primarily through white-label and comparison websites, referral affiliates and digital
marketing channels.

Job Location: Washington, DC office

Timing: Immediate (new position)

Ideal candidate: Comfortable and talented across a wide skillset, from managing detail hands-on to conceiving and articulating financial strategy. Experienced at navigating among diverse personalities and competing priorities. Above all a leader who understands the objective, is honest, executes reliably, and promotes team play.


Experience:

+
6 to 12 years experience in financial reporting positions

+ Recent success in a financial position in a small FinTech or growth company.

+ Experience with online platforms and digital marketing a plus.

 

Salary:

Based on experience.

Required Skills:

+ Strong leadership and execution skills.

+ MBA or bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.

+ Strong interpersonal skills.

+ Self-supporting in a Microsoft environment.

 

Role: This individual will report to the CEO

 

Responsibilities:

+ Partner with the CEO and senior management to identify and execute financial priorities, drive growth, and help the company to achieve its financial goals.

+ Partner with leadership to develop and maintain key operating initiatives.

+ Develop and provide analysis of business initiatives, product launches, and new platform services.

+ Serve as project manager on critical initiatives involving multiple departments.

+ Be a hands-on manager of all aspects of the company’s financial and HR activities.

+ Manage and provide timely reports and forecasts of the company’s profitability and cash flow.

+ Develop metrics to identify and track positive and negative trends.

+ Identify issues and opportunities to improve financial and strategic outcomes.
