What This Job is About:

 

The Coordinator, Policy & Government Relations, offers operational and administrative support to the Policy & Government Relations department to provide cohesiveness and ensure continuity of workflow. This role interacts across all levels of the association and with important external stakeholders to handle the logistical work for programs, special projects, and meetings. The Coordinator also supports the upkeep and maintenance of the department’s website presence, creation of meeting minutes, and refining presentation slides.

 

More specifically, key responsibilities include:

 

  • Handles meeting scheduling and event logistics for PGR Department. This includes relevant AMCP committee meetings and meetings with external stakeholders and other AMCP staff.  Prepares and disseminates agendas and develops meeting minutes as necessary.
  • Designs/formats/organizes presentation slides and other materials.
  • Coordinates activities related to new program/project development to support Policy & Government Relations programs and projects. Serves as the conduit for team connectivity.
  • Manages and updates web content for the Policy & Government Relations team in coordination with the Manager, Policy & Government Relations.
  •  Compiles content for the Legislative and Regulatory Briefing monthly newsletter or other PGR-led communications as requested.
  • Supports the Director, Government Relations, to organize logistics for AMCP’s Legislative Days program and other legislative events, to include the scheduling of congressional meetings, preparing materials, confirming participants, and other related tasks.
  • Assists in legislative and regulatory monitoring and AMCP grassroots activities as requested.
  • Assists with logistics for PGR-related visits by AMCP members and others to the AMCP office and the department’s external meetings in coordination with office administration.
  • Collaborates with PGR department staff to organize and manage digital and physical department documents and other records to comply with record retention policy.
  • As requested, acts as a liaison with other departments and outside organizations to answer questions regarding Policy & Government Relations meetings/materials and activities.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of working experience in an administrative or project management role. Or, equivalent combined education and working experience.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suites—Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Adapts to changing priorities.
  • Experience on Capitol Hill, at a federal agency, or at a health care, professional, or scientific company or association is preferred.
