Established in 2014, Acacia Counseling & Wellness is the leading provider of off-campus, college student mental health. We currently have offices in Santa Barbara, Minneapolis, Davis, Westwood, and La Jolla. We are looking for our next Director at our new Acacia - Santa Cruz office, serving the UCSC community, among other local schools starting Fall 2019!
Acacia's mission is to provide college students a safe, supportive space in which they receive quality, long term and consistent mental health care that is highly accessible, affordable and culturally sensitive. We strive to provide holistic wellness services including yoga, mindfulness/meditation, educational workshops, social events, and even a therapy dog! We work closely with academic institutions to provide optimal mental health referrals and support hundreds of students each academic year. This position is for those who are passionate about serving students, enjoy leadership roles and love working in a team-oriented environment.
We are seeking a California licensed psychiatrist with strong clinical skills, an interdisciplinary approach to treatment, and a passion for serving students. We also are looking for compassionate, devoted individuals who are multi-culturally competent and sensitive. The position requires collaboration with other health professionals, and occasionally members of the university.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Responsibilities include helping students by evaluating biopsychosocial conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing appropriate psychotropic medications, and monitoring and evaluating treatment results. In addition, this position requires proper documentation of symptoms, medications and treatment events.
We are offering full time and part time contracted positions.
Unrestricted California Medical License
- Current DEA Permit
- Documentation Skills
- Ability to collaborate with other health professionals
Credentialed with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, and/or Optum insurances
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR Systems (we use Advanced MD)
- Experience in cultural diversity and/or college students
