We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Professionals for an immediate temporary opportunity with the Offender Reentry Program of the Prince George’s County Health Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities for Mental Health Professionals:
Pass a criminal background check and security investigation to obtain clearance for the Department of Corrections.
Completes Universal enrollment form and screening/assessment tools for participants in the Prince George's County Offender Reentry Program.
Accurately inputs enrollment, screening, and assessment data into the Efforts to Outcome (ETO) database within 48 hours of encounter.
Assesses client needs for drug treatment, mental health, vocational, social, and other
Follows all requirements and protocols for utilizing ETO.
Meets with supervisor to review assessment and discuss recommended care plan.
Develops client care plan within 5 business days of enrollment assessment.
Makes appropriate referrals based upon screening and assessment and ongoing evaluations.
Sets up appointments for the client with treatment providers and ancillary community services/resources.
Follows up with clients at least once a week to ensure that they attend all scheduled
appointments and documents all encounters with clients in ETO within 24 hours.
Works with clients to overcome barriers that interfere with their ability to keep
For clients referred for inpatient services, follows up with client and all involved agencies to ensure that client enters residential treatment with medication (if prescribed) and makes a smooth transition to residential care.
Qualifications of Mental Health Professionals:
A master's degree in psychology, social work or closely related field, plus one (I) year of counseling experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Active clinical license in the State of Maryland (i.e. LCPC, LCSW, LGPC, LGSW)
Knowledge of drug abuse prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Knowledge of the current literature in the field of offender reentry.
Knowledge of counseling and interviewing skills and techniques.
Knowledge of existing referral agencies and community resources.
Ability to evaluate the severity of a client's substance abuse and/or mental health problem and implement counseling efforts to alleviate the problem(s).
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish rapport with clients and other concerned persons and to maintain effective working relationships.

Shift: Monday – Friday (8:30 am to 5:00pm)
