POSITION SUMMARY

Sr. Manager, Global Marketing Communications and Operations, will be responsible for managing the overall Abbott Structural Heart portfolio of products and brands, and building out and executing an integrated communications strategy and supporting processes, including digital and industry-specific social media efforts. He or she will develop new team capabilities and partner with the franchise product marketing teams to build and elevate communication strategies consistent with product and business objectives.  The ideal candidate should be well versed in cutting edge communications and digital strategies to drive brand and product awareness. He or she should able to lead a diverse cross-functional group and be able to develop and deliver a strategic and tactical plan based on input from both internal and external stakeholders.

This role will reside in Structural Heart headquarters in Santa Clara, California and will be expected to work closely with the Global Marketing leadership team. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead a world-class marketing communications team to position Abbott Structural Heart and our respective therapies as a leader in each of our target markets.
  • Create key communications strategies, including portfolio positioning, messaging, digital and social channels and PR to build and enhance the corporate and product brands and achieve company objectives.
  • Create, implement, and own brand strategy and standards; relevant quality processes as required in the regulated requirement.
  • Develop a digital strategy and infrastructure, including web properties, campaign management and social media strategy to create a world class customer experience.
  • Effectively influence, align, and collaborate with key functions, particularly Global Product Marketing, Regional Marketing and Sales, Regulatory, R&D and Legal.
  • Partner with commercial teams on event strategy and planning for key internal and external events to ensure consistent and appropriate corporate and brand messaging.
  • Recruit, develop and lead a team to execute on key function strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree, MBA desirable with preferred focus on Communication, Marketing and Design.
  • 8 plus years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated creativity in the execution of multi-channel communications and marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in Medical Device or Structural Heart industry is preferred.

  • Ability to think strategically, develop frameworks and platforms that ensure optimal and unfettered access to business tools, assets and capabilities.
  • Proven ability to employ various flexible communications vehicles to drive messaging across a broad, varied and dispersed organization.
