Master Automotive Technician

Responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. S/he also will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to him/her. Basic job duties may include but are not limited to: • Receive repair orders from dispatcher and take to stall area. • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair. • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. • Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer. • Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. • Notify service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required. • Notify service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised. • Document work performed. • Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keeping in mind that the customer vehicle should not be used for personal errands.
This is a MASTER Service Technician. Must have at least 5 years experience (10 years preferred). Must have European automotive experience, diagnostics experience, motor technician with a lot of experience. Working with special tools. ASE Certification. The ASE certification is a voluntary certification for the automotive industry with 8 tasks they need to complete. Looking for someone that does not need to be trained (will be some on-the-job-training). Candidate will assist with categorizing and identifying tools. There are BMW specific tools. Candidate will need to have a minimum mastery of European tools, but would like someone that has BMW knowledge. Detailed work, not just wheels and tires or oil changes. Must have transmission, electrical, etc... experience. Someone that could be considered at least Mid-Level Plus.
o European automotive experience
o ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications
o Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. (the more years of experience the better!)
o Monday-Thursday availability (10 hr shifts)
- Possible conversion to permanent placement
- Possible 2 yr extension
