Position Summary:  AV Senior Residential Service Technician

AVDG is looking for an exceptional Senior Residential Service Technician to play a critical part in within the Service Department. You will be the company’s face with our clients, providing support and ensuring the AV systems installed are working at optimal performance. You will effectively and efficiently execute on AVDG service calls, attend to escalated client needs, assist with operational requirements, projects, and other duties and tasks.

The ideal candidate will use their passion for residential smart home system integration and extensive experience in installation and service to drive their need for excellence and make a strong impact in contribution as a key member of the residential service team.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Ability to independently service and troubleshoot smart home automation systems, video, audio, lighting, and shades control systems
  • Provide training to clients on the use of AV systems
  • Proactively perform preventative maintenance visits to maintain client systems
  • Carry out service tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including, but are not limited to pulling cable, install connectors, projector mounting/ hanging (ceiling mounts), TV installation/ de-installation
  • Conduct field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron/Extron/Firmware, ETC) – upload, download, make code changes, and troubleshooting
  • Interface directly with clients or client representatives to determine the issue(s) and effectively communicate resolution
  • Provide detailed reporting at the end of each service call for record-keeping

 To join our band, you’ll need the following experience:

  • Minimum 4 + years’ relevant experience in commercial AV smart home system integration environment with advanced knowledge of the A/V Industry standards.
  • Advanced customer service skills and the ability to provide the highest level of client satisfaction
  • Experience with several Control systems (AMX, Crestron, Control4, Biamp, Q-Sys, Savant, Extron, and  Dante) is required.
  • Advanced computer skills with the ability to navigate around PC and Mac and possess a deeper understanding of Windows/Mac OS applications.
  • Familiarity with Apple IOS products (Apple TV, iPad, Airport Express, iPhone/iTouch, OS10, etc.) as they relate to daily use for interfacing with and controlling integrated networks.
  • Solid understanding of the pre-wire, trim, and final phases of a project, including proper use of all associated tools and job site safety.

SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to read and understand device layout drawings, engineered schematics, and provide redline corrections and construction blueprints pertaining to A/V industry
  • Industry certifications such as Biamp Tesira Forte, Crestron DMC-E-4K, Q-SYS level 1, Dante Level 3, Extron EAVA, and CTS are HIGHLY DESIRED
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with a variety of personality and cultures is mandatory
  • Looking for a strong, driven individual to lead Service team technicians on devised strategies and able to remote assist on troubleshooting calls
