We are currently seeking a Software Engineer I (embedded) to join our team. Job Duties and Responsibilities Use knowledge and experience to perform development (code and debug), integrate, and test flight-critical and simulator applications. Develop real-time, embedded micro-controller software and firmware for avionics systems.
Support and derive algorithm design from detailed software requirements. Work within a defined software life cycle development process. Design, code, simulate, integrate and validate software.
Present at, participate in design reviews, and code walkthrough. Will work closely with other engineering disciplines. Focused on getting the job done.
Participate in System Integration Lab (SIL) development and integrated system testing with other engineers. Required Qualifications & Background BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering. MS preferred.
0-2 years of experience in C/C++. Real-time / embedded application software a plus. C# experience using Visual Studio a plus.
Familiarity with IDEs and debuggers, such as Keil. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are required. Experience in software lifecycle development and standards a plus.
GNC/auto pilot simulation and design experience a plus. Experience with UAS, drones, or robotics is a plus. Familiarity with configuration management tools and techniques, SVN a plus.
Familiarity with ARM processors a plus. Basic electronics knowledge and use of lab equipment is a plus. Technical knowledge and experience with the following are a plus; serial communications, network communications, TCP/IP, UDP, FTP.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills. Travel may be required.
