Job Description NOTICE OF JOB OPENING Utility Welder Summary – Carry-On Trailer - An ATW Company is in need of welders in each of our Weld departments. The successful candidate will weld metal pieces together to build quality trailers. Welders will begin at, or above, $16.00 per hour. Insurance and benefits are available. We are offering a $1,000 hire on bonus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Read a blue print and build trailers according to the blue print Proficiently use all tools related to the welding process including – but not limited to - a jig, a square and a tape measure Position and clamp materials together prior to welding Maintain a safe and orderly weld bay Build a minimum number of trailers per day according to the company standard Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications – The successful candidate will be able to proficiently perform each of the duties listed above. Welders will be evaluated on the number of trailers they build each day. Language skills – The ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints. The ability to understand instructions in English and/or Spanish is helpful. Physical Demands – The physical demands for this position include, but are not limited to: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment – The work environment characteristics could be, but are not limited to: The employee will be standing for most of the work day. Temperature will vary with the outside temperature. The employee could be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud. There is risk of personal injury involved with the job. Education and/or Experience – A high school diploma or GED is required to hold this position. Welding experience is preferred but not required.
