Under direct supervision, the Staff Accountant performs a variety of routine technical accounting work, with an emphasis on sales, property, franchise, employer and all other needs for tax reporting and compliance.

As a Staff Accountant, you will fill a crucial role in the business accounting process.

  • Files and issues payment timely for all Sales, Property, and Franchise tax reports that are due monthly, quarterly, or annually.
  • Maintains reports to verify any and all Sales Tax Credits needed, by state, to be taken and filed on a monthly basis
  • Examines a variety of accounting documents to verify accuracy of data used to file timely reports.
  • Ensures that transactions are in accordance with applicable authority, policies, procedures, and are recorded consistent with acceptable accounting standards.
  • Prepares accounting reports utilizing manual methods and/or computer software.
  • Provides assistance to company staff to demonstrate or explain procedures.
  • Any and all day-to-day accounting functions and procedures that need to be completed to keep accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP principles.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a four-year recognized university
  • 1+ years of accounting experience related to the job description
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and GAAP
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team environment
  • Advanced Excel skills to manipulate large data files to perform various analysis using VLOOKUP, PIVOT TABLE, INDEX, MATCH, and etc.
  • Experience with Dynamics GP, MS Word and Outlook is required
  • Experience with Dynamics CRM a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail


Must be able to work a minimum of a 40-hour workweek, plus additional as required to complete assignments on a timely basis. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; must be able to transport oneself to and from offices (including upstairs) and travel when necessary. Must be able to read, write and converse in English; be able to see with or without corrective lenses; be able to sufficiently hear with or without hearing assistance devices to respond and interface with co-workers and clients; could think logically and be able to lift and carry various office items up to 30 pounds.


Office environment consists of a modular office that includes adequate lighting, heating/cooling, equipment and furniture in good working condition. Must be able to work constructively and cheerfully in an environment that may be stressful due to adversarial situations, and always maintaining company as well as employee confidentiality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
