Job Description

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will organize, manage, and plan complex projects for the organization’s research, development, and process documentation efforts. This position will work in the Transportation industry and will need to have working logistics knowledge.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Manage and coordinate Logistics type projects of all types from beginning to end.

· Coordinate and lead departmental and companywide project that could include outside parties to support the project.

· Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, with accuracy and efficiency.

· Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.

· Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.

· Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.

· Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).

· Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.

· Acts as a project lead and liaison between company, customers, and vendors.

· Hold post-project meetings to discuss the process, successes and path forward.

· Communicates and collaborates with logistics, and sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Oversees projects alongside other managers and analysts to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.

· Delegates work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.

 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Strong customer service, project management, logistics and transportation skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Ability to work independently and stay focused on multiple tasks.

· Execute process improvement solutions to business problems, using data analysis, and optimization tools to support strategic process improvement plans. Ability to interpret trends and identify solutions.

· Lead in the evaluation of transportation analysis by collecting pertinent data.

· Participate in innovation meetings where objectives & performance goals are determined and tracked.

· Develop plans, schedules, and budgets for projects to innovate existing processes.

· Collaborate with Leadership, identify stakeholders and interview staff at all levels of the organization.

· Works with business units to develop standard operating procedures, documenting workflow and process steps.

· Develops tools and methods to track and report relevant key performance indicators (KPI’s).

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, or preferred

· At least two years of related experience required.

· Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects with minimal supervision.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and diplomatically

· Outstanding oral and written communication skills and excellent English language/grammar.

· Proficient in MS Office, including, Outlook, Strong Excel, Word, Power Point and Project

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
