1st Shift Food Manufacturing Operator III (Packaging )

Summary of the Position:
The machine operator III operates and maintains multiple complex machines or multiple machine lines with minimum supervision. Troubleshoots/resolves problems and also monitors production line to ensure efficiency/quality is maintained. Coordinates the work of employees assigned to the line(s) this person has responsibility for. Tracks performance data, communicates exceptions and works with teammates and supervision to recommend and execute solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Sets up machine loads, dies, and films and monitors to make sure it is running efficiently. Performs diagnostics and resolves equipment issues as needed. (50%)
• Follows work order, quality control and sanitation procedures concerning weights, packs, descriptions, dates, UPC’S, cleanup and changeovers. (10%)
• Performs quality control and material waste checks. Collects downtime data and other performance data as required. Analyzes to make recommendations or implement improvements. (10%)
• Performs pre-operational checks, including quality of materials. Communicates and assists in managing exceptions. (10%)
• Maintains and exceeds production, quality and safety standards.(5%)
• Loads product into hopper and monitors scales and/or other support equipment. (5%)
• Leads machinery change over (clean, size change, etc.) effectively, timely and with proper level of cleaning. (5%)
• Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area.(5%)
• Directs/instructs machine line personnel in specific job duties. Provides training to machine operator I and II. (5%)

1. Experience.

2. Basic problem recognition and resolution on the line being operated.

3. Mechanical, electrical, and analytical abilities

4. Basic computer literacy (to understand QAD and scanners).

5. Capable of managing multiple priorities

6. Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.

7. Basic math skills

1st Shift

6am-4:30pm.

$18hr or based on experience
