Accounting Specialist

APX Construction Group is a growing, Minnesota-based company, that offers a single point of contact to clients for general contracting, construction management, design-build services, and facility maintenance. We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to develop accounting policies and oversee all financial procedures of our company.

As the Accounting Specialist, you'll monitor the company's financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets and manage accounting transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with risk management. Ultimately, you'll make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits, and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record, and reconcile bank transactions for multiple accounts.
• Credit card management and payments.
• Review weekly check runs processed by accounting assistant.
• Provide weekly cash reports to management for entities.
• Monitor and manage WIP for month end.
• Review project analysis of Job profitability, and margin reports for jobs.
• Record and track Fixed Assets
• Analysis of monthly expense accounts
• Process and send out monthly AR statements.
• Manage real estate companies rent.
• Handle general ledger bookkeeping where necessary.
• Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
• Collaborate with team members to provide necessary financial reports to senior-level managers.
• Review and work with 3rd party insurance companies.

• Proficient in Office 365 & Microsoft Products, ERP knowledge helpful
• Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• BS degree in Accounting required
