Provide Hawaii customers with assistance on contract management, rate requests, service contract activities, assessing/qualifying sales leads, tracking bookings, making bookings, getting rates, releasing cargo to truckers, answer questions of customers, resolve problems involving customer cargo and assist in providing a great experience with all customers.

Accountabilities

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide assistance with contract management, rate requests, service contract activities, sales reporting, presentation preparations and transportation cost analysis.
  • Qualify potential accounts and sales leads
  • Provide rate and/or booking information to internal and external customers accurately and timely
  • Assist customer in tariff interpretation with rates and rules
  • Make bookings into APL system
  • Manage exceptions and review database for errors and make corrections
  • Work closely with all local and federal government entities
  • Capture sales leads for sales team
  • Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • IMDG and 49-CFR certification a plus
  • 2 years industry or customer service
  • Experience in transportation industry preferred

  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
