Current Project:

Client: Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)

Project Title: Radio Program Project Management and On‐Call Services

Project status: Immediate Requirement

Project Location: Washington, DC and Metro Area

Project Description: Our client, one of the biggest transit agencies in MD, currently plans on implementing the Radio & Cellular Infrastructure Replacement Project where it’s required to replace its operational T‐band frequencies of 488‐500 MHz to 700 MHz. In addition, the client is required to provide access to wireless services in the underground areas of the metro system.

Job Description:

ANGARAI is actively looking for a Project Controls Practice Leader who can support various Project Management projects across multiple transit agencies we are already engaged with including this one. The Project Controls Practice Leader works under direction of the Project Manager to establish and maintain a procedural framework for collecting the project’s controlled documents, including developing and/or enhancing document controls procedures, tools and managing the collection, distribution and filing of controlled documents.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implement document/data management solutions with a primary focus on document control and records management; administer data/document management applications;
  • Plan, organize, and implement systems for efficient document processing of all communications, supplier documents, design documents, construction documents or other internal or external documents;
  • Process one or more document types through all procedural steps in accordance with well‐defined procedures and guidelines; Ensure that pre‐established document control requirements (e.g., document numbering systems; signature requirements, etc.) are satisfactorily met throughout the duration of the project;
  • Receive, track, and monitor documents using standard document management programs to register documents, maintain databases, and produce logs, transmittals, and other reports as required;
  • Enter data and produce reports using other standard office automation or department-specific computer applications; initiate and reply to routine correspondence related to area of responsibility;
  • Provide assistance to users in capturing and locating electronic information;
  • Manage the flow and storage of all project documentation (correspondence, contracts, construction documents, engineering, schedules;
  • Supervise employees responsible for the flow and storage of all project documentation (correspondence, contracts, construction documents, engineering, schedules, etc.) between project operations, engineering disciplines, construction team, and other related support groups;
  • Maintain an established data distribution system and schedule for the assigned project based upon client, project, department, and supplier requirements; expedite review, signature approval, and release of supplier and internally produced documents;
  • Verify retention requirements, arrange document cataloging, packing, and long‐term storage or disposal of appropriate documents at time of closeout;
  • Manage scheduled destruction of archived documents according to company and/or Client guidelines; provide assistance with document retrieval; and
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Project Manager and/or Materials Manager.

Background and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university;
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience, including at least five (5) years of prior document control experience in a lead capacity;
  • Knowledge of both the work processes of document control and the use of electronic systems used to manage documentation;
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software;
  • Working knowledge of electronic document management systems, including Procore;
  • Detail‐oriented professional with strong organization and people skills;
  • Ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management;
  • Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of document management practices and principles;
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening; and
  • Must have reliable transportation.
