Job Description
As we continue to expand our presence in the federal government sector, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to join our team. This critical role requires a strong background in IT project management, particularly within the government sector. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and compliance requirements faced by federal agencies, including the adoption of Zero Trust principles. Knowledge of Trusted Internet Connections (TIC), security sector experience, and relevant certifications, such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), are highly desirable.
The Senior Technical Program Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of technical projects for our federal clients. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of The Trusted Internet Connections (TIC), Zero Trust standards, network segmentation, multi-factor authentication, and other related security practices recommended by CISA.
In collaboration with cross-functional teams, the Senior Technical Program Manager will lead the execution of complex technical projects, ensuring adherence to security principles and compliance with applicable regulations. They will oversee the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets, while monitoring and addressing any risks or issues that arise. Effective communication and coordination with internal teams, clients, and vendors will be essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop & update project plans for IT projects including project scope, objectives, schedule, funding, and staffing
· Work with the team to ensure quality and stable solutions so that customers receive no interruption in service or product delivery
· Develop risk management plans and define the tools and approaches that will be used to perform risk management activities
· Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with the team, government client, senior management and other stakeholders
· Identify IT environmental and process improvements wherever applicable
· Develop Standard Operations Procedures for a variety of tasks and ensure processes standards are being met
· Analyze existing processes and make recommendations for improvement and growth
· Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met
· Develop and review Service Level Agreements
· Attend status and projects meetings to discuss, schedule, prioritize tasks, and progress of projects
· Influence, lead and serve a team of highly-skilled and experienced engineers and developers
· Review customer satisfaction feedback and use constructive feedback as learning tools
Qualifications
· 10+ years of related work experience in a large scale IT environment
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
· Project management certification is required
· IT Management and/or security certification is preferred
· In-depth knowledge of IT security standards and best practices
· Knowledge of NIST security standards and FISMA is preferred
· Experience working with Smartsheet is preferred
· Cloud certification is preferred
· Strong leadership skills, personal drive, and ability to see projects through to execution in a matrixed environment
· Strong organizational and mentoring skills
· Possesses strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
