Learn more at AMPRobotics.com.AMP Robotics is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer out of our Louisville, CO office on a hybrid schedule.This person will be reporting to the Director of Hardware, to focus on designing, developing, and testing autonomous recycling products.In this role, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for defining and delegating the assigned mechanical team's tasks based on strengths and interests, ensuring that schedule commitments are met and milestones are completed as the team works to prototype, test, and scale production across one of AMP Robotics' core technology projects. As both a contributor and a leader this role will epitomize leading from both the front and the back.As our Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will: Work with an R&D team of up to 6 engineers on fast-moving, rapidly evolving autonomous recycling products Collaborate with other cross disciplinary leads to develop systems products, where hardware and software elements must work together to achieve the desired results Work closely with the engineering leadership to develop project requirements, acceptance criteria, and manage risk Test, validate, and iterate designs to meet strict performance requirements Rapidly prototype proof-of-concept designs Develop products from prototype phase to larger-scale production Be a mentor and role model for other engineers, including review and critique of mechanical engineering artifacts Facilitate the development of future AMP products Provide thought leadership on mechanical engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of product development processesSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneThe successful candidate will have:Required: A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent combination of technical experience and work experience 7+ years of engineering experience 3+ years of industrial equipment or machine automation experience Results oriented, establish expectations for desired reliability and performance objectives. A strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals Exposure to research and development or new product development workflows Working knowledge of electrical and control systems Contribute on hands on activities, including installing, testing, and troubleshooting lab articles and field units Proven ability to lead teams from ideation through prototyping and subsequent production transitions SolidWorks proficiency Support project intake activities, including: Work Breakdown Structure Project Estimating Risk Assessment Critical Interface Definition System Architecture Development Establish product constraints and dependenciesYou'll also be: Eager to learn Organized Proactive communicator across different engineering and non-engineering disciplines Adaptable Driven to succeed Reliable and consistent An inspiring and well-intentioned personPreferred: Strong public speaking skills and comfort presenting regularly DFMA proficiency Passion for the environment and recycling Passion and experience with robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence Experience with meeting machine safety requirements Experience from multiple industries Experience being a part of the process of scaling up a company Strong background in FEA and/or CFD Analysis Experience contributing to near term and long term product roadmap developmentEducation: BSME Mechanical EngineeringExperience: 7 years preferred experienceWorking Conditions/Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
