SUMMARY
Performs aircraft related sheet metal and Auxiliary Fuel Systems (AFS) installation and modification tasks in accordance with Company Standards and procedures, appropriate maintenance publications, guidance and standard practices under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform aircraft structural, and sheet-metal related activities including modifications, heavy repair, and maintenance with minimal supervision.
- Perform tasks in a manner that achieves the highest quality workmanship.
- Complete documentation and tasks associated with removals: Identification tags, removal weight log, hardware bags, warning tags, and protection of parts for storage.
- Understand basic aircraft stringer and frame station layout.
- Read, interpret and follow Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, aircraft manuals and drawings for modifications/repairs.
- Accomplish planned work in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer’s specifications, Company Process Standards and Airplane Manuals.
- Document all aircraft related actions in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, Quality System Manual and appropriate regulatory guidance. Ensure all paperwork requirements are kept current with job progress.
- Prepare and submit all required documentation to Quality Control following completion of project.
- Help train employees in work methods and procedures, strictly in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer’s specifications, Company Process Standards and Airplane Manuals.
- Assist in various aircraft ground-handling tasks including servicing, lifting / shoring, and towing.
- Promptly report any problems associated with carrying out work assignments including non-availability of parts, materials, improper workflow, drawing discrepancies, etc.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with company standards.
- Inspect for, and report all non-airworthy aircraft, components or articles.
- Report any unserviceable tooling, machinery, or equipment required for efficient production.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Document actions by completing all required material usage, production, quality, and time keeping data entry and / or forms.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment in accordance with company standards.
- Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fill in for Structures Lead, if unavailable.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High School Education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal/structures.
- Knowledge of the Boeing 737-700, -800 and -900; BBJ preferred.
- Solid understanding in the use of Precision measuring tools as well as basic tools.
- Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan work.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours or second shift, when needed.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Read, write, and understand the English language.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant or Repairman’s Certification preferred.
