Maintenance Mechanic - IVD Dept

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the department Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial vacuum equipment and associated systems. Record and document repairs. Search procure and maintain stock of spare parts. Schedule maintenance at regular intervals. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Ability to lift 60 pounds occasionally, stoop, bend, climb ladders, and crawl.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Will troubleshoot equipment problems in order to keep them running effectively.
• Changes bearings on motors.
• Plumbing: running PVC pipe, toilets, sinks, tanks, pumps
• Conducts roof repair as needed.
• Conducts preventative maintenance on all blowers, pumps, and equipment.
• Adheres to safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field.
• Sit down Forklift experience
• Have mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools, some electrical knowledge
• Ability to weld is a plus
• Ability to communicate, read, and understand English.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and multitask.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members at all levels in the organization.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed

ITAR REQUIREMENT:

Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).

• Walking/Standing for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs
• Exposed heat, noise and chemical fumes while in production areas
