Title: GIS Specialist
Location: Arlington, VA (Pentagon)
Clearance Level: Secret (or ability to obtain and maintain a clearance)
Summary/Description:
We are a seeking a GIS Specialist to support the United States Department of Defense (DOD) Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) as a GIS Specialist to provide services for the collection, production, analysis, dissemination and maintenance of consistent and accurate, installation geospatial data and products, which includes both GIS and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD); in support of the installation management mission.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Support the technical lead in ESRI web product development
Perform data quality and standards compliance validation checks
Possess knowledge of CAD to GIS data conversion standards and procedures
Work with client and external stakeholders to gather requirements for web application development.
Utilize ArcPro software to develop and publish web services to the ArcGIS Enterprise Portal
Utilize Web AppBuilder and Operations Dashboard to create and configure web applications
Provide data, metadata, and map products through approved enterprise systems
Develop, produce, and distribute cartographic products (hard copy and digital formats)
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience with ArcGIS Pro
Experience creating, updating, and maintaining databases, attributes, maps, and graphs using GIS software and related equipment
Communication with client and/or outside stakeholders
Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) standards
DoD IGI&S program experience with facilities, infrastructure, and utilities
Experience compiling geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, tabular data, databases, and existing maps
Experience in managing and configuring data and metadata to common geospatial standards
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geography or related physical or geospatial science such as Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Cartography, Information Technology, Computer Science, Urban Studies/ Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Drafting or Construction related field or a minimum of 4 years’ experience using ESRI ArcGIS
