Technical Designer for small Aerospace company

My client is actively seeking a Technical Designer to join their stellar design team of artists, creatives and makers supporting their customers in the rapidly growing aerospace industry.
Do you enjoy product design for the opportunity to invent each day, but wish you could contribute to scientific research? Maybe you come from an apparel or soft goods background but find the fit and function of your creations more interesting than their aesthetic qualities.
My client was founded in 2014 and is an MLI (multi-layer insulation) industry leader, offering consultation, design, fabrication, installation, and critical support services to a variety of clients, for both test and flight aerospace applications. They are fast-growing, focused on diversity and equity, as well as on building a culture that promotes employee collaboration, support, and mentoring.
Job Description:
§ Virtually communicate with clients to gather project requirements and ensure that they are reflected in design packages
§ Maintain master product development requirements matrixes
§ Generate and update detailed design packages (concise, clear graphics are a must)
§ Be responsible for client correspondence during the design stage
§ Maintain effective professional relationships with clients
§ Present and lead both client and internal product development meetings
§ Generate detailed installation procedures for clients
§ Act as a product knowledge base
§ Manage production problems and ensure their timely resolution
§ Monitor development process and ensure compliance to schedule with manager
§ Help design new company methodologies for product development
Requirements:
§ Bachelor’s, B.S. or BFA in Apparel Design, Product Design, Aerospace or related field
§ Demonstrated experience in product management and/or generating tech packs, product specs, and build documentation (examples of past work required)
§ Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
§ Strong organizational skills
§ Ability to keep track of design revisions
§ Ability to work as a part of a highly collaborative fast-paced team
§ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
§ Experience with Adobe Illustrator preferred
§ Experience with CAD software a plus
§ US Citizen
