AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Environmental Technician II to join our team. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services in support of Brownfield redevelopment.
Job Description
This is a position for an Environmental Field Technician with experience in soil and groundwater sampling. The main duties of the position include performing different groundwater and soil methods, record/data keeping and general O&M of environmental remediation systems. This position requires self motivation, dedication and compliance with strict safety guidelines and the ability to work as part of a team with daily direction from project management. This position will involve some travel, but long-term assignments are not a routine aspect of this position.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate an established career in the environmental field, specific to contaminated site investigation and remediation, including facilitating redevelopment of sites. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, and AECOM operations management, and can work both independently and as a part of a project team.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
* Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.
* May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
* Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
* Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* HS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* 4 years of experience in Remediation
* Associates Degree preferred in related field
* 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work well in groups and independently
