Duties and essential functions 

ADVA Customer Service is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager that is passionate about delivering flawless implementations of optical solutions in datacenter, carrier or enterprise network environments. The Project Manager will lead and manage key customer service projects including ADVA product installation and commissioning, trial, on-site and remote deployment support. Project manager will ensure customer’s requirements are effectively executed and delivered at each stage of the project cycle. At ADVA, you will work with enthusiastic and innovative business/technical professionals in a fast paced and positive environment.

Primary tasks and responsibilities

  • Coordinating multiple ADVA functions in the delivery and installation of complex projects for large enterprises and carriers

  • Working closely with all relevant ADVA functions (Account Management Team, System Consulting, Manufacturing, Technical Support, and Sales Operations)

  • Managing the project from the pre-sales opportunity phase, site survey, engineering installation documentation packages, product and service delivery, installation and commissioning, provision of post sales service and support, and post-deployment installation documentation package

  • Delivering a total quality customer solution by paying high attention to detail in carrying out the coordination of all resources

  • Negotiating all operational delivery aspects, scopes, and statements of work for the project deliverables

  • Comprehensive and professional project planning: Activities, schedule, milestones, resources plan, cost, and risk assessment

  • Provide support to program management team for global strategic customers activities and co-work with the project managers in another region.

  • Provide detail customer feedback to other internal departments for overall customer satisfaction of ADVA products and services.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

  • The successful applicant for this role will have 7+ years of relevant experience working in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field with prior responsibilities in project management and/or network engineer roles. Experience and technical knowledge of fundamentals of optical networking, and/or data communication technologies is required.

  • Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework

  • Practical, pragmatic, and proactive approach to work ("self-starter") - Ability to analyze complex problems, to interpret operational needs, and to develop integrated, creative solutions.

  • Team player with conflict resolution skills and advanced communication skills

  • Demonstrate a proven ability in the use of modern project management tools and techniques.

  • Ability to learn how to create and deliver pre- and post-deployment installation documentation.

  • Experience in motivating a team to follow a rigorous project management approach - The ability to create transparent change control processes which capture all customer technical and solution requirement within an evolving environment.

  • Excellent customer facing and influencing skills.

  • The ability to work effectively and informally with the internal cross-functional delivery teams and the customer.

  • The willingness and aptitude to quickly become conversant with ADVA technologies and platforms.

  • PMI certification, although not required, is desirable.

  • Experience with MS Office; proficient with VISIO, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from a college or university with four to six years related experience.  

Travel requirements

  • 1 or2 times of international or domestic travel per quarter for internal and external meetings

Work environment 

  • Flexible schedule when working after hours or weekends.

  • Professional office environment.
