General Ledger Accountant

Position will monitor general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and daily bank deposits. Position will be responsible for oversight of daily operations for contract investigator payments and payroll. The position will process daily voucher review and approval in accordance with general ledger account guidance. The position will serve as backup to the Accounting Lead in producing monthly and bi-weekly billings to insure continuity of the billing process. Position will be responsible to insure that the payroll position is backed up and is ready to step in during absence of payroll specialist. Position will work alongside Accounting Lead in the month and year end closing process and assist in production of monthly financial statements as well as any ad hoc reports that might be requested. Position will work with Accounting Lead and Controller in any audit processes as well as yearend review by outside Accountant.
Essential Tasks (minimum requirements) to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Model ADC LTD NM's core values, policies and procedures and ensure that the same are supported at all times.
- Maintain & Reconcile general ledger
- Monitor and Backup 1099 payments by verifying documentation and submitting disbursements
- Work with field investigators on any questions
- Primary Backup for the payroll procedure & Processing
- Prepare and reconcile Federal and State compliance reports (payroll and sales tax)
- Assist with requests, analysis and projects as assigned
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts & supporting schedules
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls
- Assist Accounting Lead in month end process
- Assist Accounting Lead in production of monthly Financial Statements
- Backup for Billing of all Government and Commercial Invoices
- All other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Skills
- While in process of obtaining Top Secret clearance, must be able to obtain interim clearance and/or agency approvals. Upon receipt of Top Secret clearance, must be able to maintain active Top Secret clearance and all agency approvals required of their position.

- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited 4 year college/university
- 3 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with Deltek and ADP is a plus
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not carry any supervisory responsibilities.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employment is contingent upon the successful results of a background check and drug screen. In addition to the completion of a federal background investigation and while in the process of obtaining a Top Secret Clearance, must be able to obtain an interim clearance and/or appropriate agency approvals. Upon receipt of Top Secret clearance, must be able to maintain active Top Secret clearance and all agency approvals required of their position.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday, schedule to be determined between the core hours of 6:30 a.m. MST and 6:00 p.m. MST approved by direct supervisor. Evening and weekend shifts may be required.
Telework Eligibility
ADC offers full-time, hybrid and emergency telework arrangements for eligible employees when strategic priorities, specific work requirements and the employee and supervisor are suited for such an arrangement. Guidelines have been established to assist the employee in efficient production of their job duties and sets forth the expectations to be followed if a regular full-time, hybrid or emergency telework arrangement is approved.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently be required to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer and using the phone.
Probation
Six-month probation at start of initial employment and/or when position is new for the employee.
