The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a financial wellness counselor to create and facilitate groups and seminars that engage, educate and empower artists to live healthy and stable financial lives.
Utilizing individual and group learning, you will manage and facilitate a financial education and literacy program that teach practical skills and strategies as well as help people understand their relationship to money and its impact on financial and career decisions. This position will work closely with the Financial Wellness Counselor counterparts in other regional offices, Social Services and Career Center teams to identify the learning needs of performing artists and develop relevant programs. You will also collaborate with community organizations that provide complementary services to develop a resource network. Services are currently provided remotely utilizing virtual meeting software. This position will work remotely through the end of 2020. This is an ideal position for an individual familiar with the financial demands and episodic nature of work in the creative community and with a background in developing and facilitating financial education and literacy programs.
- 3 years’ experience in financial coaching, or counseling.
- Experience planning and conducting groups, workshops or seminars.
- Proficiency in group facilitation through virtual meetings and webinars utilizing zoom or other software
- Master’s Degree in a related counseling field preferred
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Familiarity with performing arts and entertainment community and/or managing on an episodic income
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships within the related community
- May be required to work an adjusted schedule, which may include additional weekday evening or weekend hours
