Project Manager (Electrical Automotive)

ACTIA Corporation has been manufacturing quality vehicle electronics and diagnostic equipment for growing markets such as Off-Highway, Bus & Coach, Truck & Fleet, Marine and Specialty Vehicles for over 30 years. ACTIA Group is an international group based in Toulouse, France.

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Elkhart, IN. A hands-on working member of the Engineering team to assist all departments in producing a smooth, efficient flow through ACTIA Corporation.

The ideal candidate would provide leadership through effective communication to the project team while focusing on the quality product that only ACTIA can deliver.

Job Specific Competencies:

1. Project Management
   1. Drives the standard APQP process for all customer and internal R & D projects
   2. Creates project feasibilities, to include project timelines and requirements documents
   3. Oversees the writing of the project functional specification, design and manufacturing test requirements
   4. Reviews and approves the project test plans and reports (hardware, software, mechanical & system)
   5. Manages project schedule and updates accordingly
   6. Manages project budget and monitors variances
   7. Schedules and oversees design reviews (hardware, software, mechanical & system)
2. Documentation
   1. Creates/manages/maintains all product documentation (including all subcomponents) from project feasibility through production release.
   2. Creates/manages/maintains Engineering Change Notices and associated documentation.
   3. Maintains time records and project reports
3. Manufacturing
   1. Oversees the making of all prototype parts and assemblies
   2. Assists in the production startup of products, collaborating with other departments for completing prototypes and projects.
4. Collaboration
   1. Primary liaison to customer through product development lifecycle for engineering-related activities.       
   2. Assists in other areas when requested
5. Legal Compliance
   1. Ensure legal compliance with state, federal and OSHA requirements      
   2. Ensure ISO procedures are followed
   3. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering-related discipline
• PMP certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years project management experience in an engineering-related product or service; the electronics industry is preferred.
• Recent experience with automotive electronics or similar/related industry manufacturing, preferred.    
• Cursory experience in mechanical design and manufacturing principles and acceptable practices is required.
• Cursory experience in software development principles and acceptable practices, preferred.
• Leadership, excellent verbal, and written communication in technical and business contexts.
