Summary
Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation.
This position is responsible for assisting the company and clients with disaster recovery projects as a subject matter expert. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDC's Corporate Values Platform.
Full Time or Part Time: Full Time/Exempt
Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Regular
Reporting Division: Recovery
Compensation: $105k-145k per year
Benefits Summary: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid parental leave, paid time off, sick time, tuition reimbursement, short-term disability.
Travel/Location: travel to Florida will be necessary to start, then throughout the United States. THIS POSITION COULD REQUIRE UP TO 50% travel/deployment.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Manage critical portions of projects and ensure all aspects of a project are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
- Ensure all program and project files are fully and accurately documented in a system of record.
- Conduct meetings and briefings with clients, prepare budgets, client presentations, develop materials and reporting as needed.
- Manage priorities, project needs, and competing deadlines, and rapidly adapt to changing production requirements and schedules.
- Provide guidance on federal regulations (e.g., cross-cutting federal requirements, duplication of benefits) and translate them into program implementation.
- Complete benefits and insurance policy reviews.
- Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
- Identify potential impacts/implications of policy changes to Federal/State/local programs and provide briefings as required.
- Perform quality control review procedures over work performed by other consultants and over client-provided documents as requested.
- Oversee daily operations of staff as assigned by senior management.
- During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support or co-lead relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to support advanced roles in emergency situations and/or activations.
- Maintain/pursue ongoing knowledge, certifications, and subject matter expertise as appropriate.
- Ability to have fun and lead with compassion- even in stressful situations.

- Ability to train others and lead projects and/or programs with senior leadership oversight.
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with a variety of public and private sector clients.

Experience and Education Required
- 8-10+ years' advanced or subject matter expert-level knowledge/experience in various emergency management functions with a focus on your current division.
- Experience with DOB reviews
- Advanced level customer service experience
- Advanced level project management experience
- Experience managing DOB projects.
- Bachelor's degree
- Equivalency: Professional experience beyond minimum requirements, in a related field may substitute the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- At least 3-years direct leadership experience or experience leading complex portions of projects teams/tasks, program management or full scope programs.
- Advanced to subject matter expert level knowledge and/or experience in one Emergency Management Disciplines.
- Advanced level knowledge of recovery and response programs including FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Public Assistance.
- Experience managing projects or complex portions of projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
Experience and Education Preferred but not Required.
- Applicable Certifications:
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
- Business development experience.
- Proficient with Salesforce.

- Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for prolonged periods of time.

- Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
Work Environment
- Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or government buildings.
- All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
- If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.
Additional Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
