Summary Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation.

The Homeowner Insurance Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional communication with applicants. The case manager will assist with intake, reviewing applications for quality, completeness, and accuracy. They will assist with documentation and communicating with applicants on a regular basis. They will maintain a complete understanding of all applicable program policies, requirements, procedures and review all cases within the guidelines established. Case Manager will provide potential applicants with program information, help with completing program applications and any other duties as assigned. + Assist all Divisions in direct client support and deliverables, as needed.

+ Attend meetings and conference calls with clients.

+ Manage individual workload, productivity, and communications that enable accurate, efficient and policy compliant processing.

+ Understand program needs, policy, departmental process flows and standard operating procedures.

+ Review records for inconsistencies, investigate, and resolve issues with analysis and customer service skills.

+ Communicate, resolve, and escalate problems and concerns according to proper protocols.

+ During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support case management processes, relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to support advanced roles in emergency situations and/or activations.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

+ Respond to questions and requests professionally and in a timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

+ Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.

+ Capable of multi-tasking when necessary.

+ Strong familiarity with state and local governments is necessary.

+ Excellent critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

+ Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.

+ Ability to be flexible and make quick decisions as disasters change and develop.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.

Experience and Education Required

+ Two to three years' experience working with Oregon homeowners' insurance.

+ Two years customer service/clerical experience.

+ Ability to perform the job function with limited supervision, while providing excellent customer service.

+ Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills: ability to quickly learn new software applications.

+ Experience implementing a working knowledge of applicable rules and regulations

+ Bachelor's degree or associates degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related field.

+ Equivalency: Professional experience beyond minimum requirements, in a related field may substitute the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Experience and Education Preferred

+ Intermediate to advanced level project management experience preferred.

+ Beginner to intermediate level knowledge of recovery and/or response programs including FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) public assistance.

+ Two to three years disaster case management experience.

+ Experience with duplication of benefits reviews.

Expected Hours of Work Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends and dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements

+ Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.

+ On-site work to support program information and enrollment is required.

+ Deployment to client sites for extended periods may be required.

Physical Demands

+ Mobility required on-site with clients.

+ Sitting or standing for hours at a time.

+ Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Work Environment

+ Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

+ Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.

+ All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.

+ If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Additional Qualifications

+ Must be 18 years of age or older.

+ Must pass company and any applicable client background check, ACDC background check, O365 basic skills assessment and reference check upon offer of employment.

+ Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
