Job Title: Lake and Pond Water Specialist (Mulitple positions) - Full time / Immediate

Setting(s): Outdoors, Environmental Services Group

Location: Swedesboro, New Jersey

Hours: Monday - Friday / 7:30am – 4pm (occasional late hours based on seasonal workload)

Reports to: Director of Field Operations

Job Summary:

Black Lagoon is rapidly expanding our surface water management solutions throughout the mid Atlantic region.  The Lake and Pond Water specialist position includes independent field work in pond management, invasive species control, and fountain/aeration service and maintenance throughout the Mid- Atlantic region. The work requires extensive daily travel with the occasional overnight stay. The successful candidate will work directly with an award-winning, nationally recognized team having more than 50 years of experience in the aquatics field. The successful candidate will work directly with territory managers daily to maintain pond/lake water quality of ponds primarily through the use of chemical, biological, and mechanical best management practices.

Primary job responsibilities will include the application of aquatic pesticides for nuisance aquatic weed and algae control, water quality testing/analysis, and aeration installation and troubleshooting. Candidate will be expected to gather and compile water quality data for record keeping and submittal.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resource Management/related field (preferred); OR three (3) or more years of experience in a resource management field.  We are willing to train less qualified individual with a great attitude, work ethic and knowledge base
• Course work in limnology, plant identification, and/or watershed management a plus
• Must be able to obtain various Commercial Pesticide Applicator/ Operator licenses with specializations
• Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions and terrains
• Must be able to lift 80 pounds or greater
• Comfortable working in chest waders
• Should have some boating experience
• Small engine repair / shop knowledge is a plus
• Trailer towing is a plus
• General tablet, computer, and data management skills
• Must possess excellent communication, and organizational skills
• Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
