Forklift Operator & Spike Inspector @ Birmingham Rail Vulcan Spike

SUMMARY: Perform forklift duties safely and efficiently & inspect and sort track spikes for quality

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform forklift duties & inspect produced track spikes, sort as needed

The forklift duties entail activities such as weighing and counting production, segregating loads for shipment in various categories, and assist in packing or production as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must be able to decipher quality standards as they relate to product acceptance and rejection.

Must be able to safely and effectively operate a forklift.

Must be able to work any shift assigned.

Must be able to read and understand work instructions and use gages assigned to monitor quality dimensions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Three years of forklift experience and training as required by the company

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Addition and subtraction

MUST have neat handwriting and be able to write small and maintain legibility.

Must be flexible as to shift assignments, work weekends.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Forklift operator’s license or certification

Hourly Rate: $16

Days: Monday - Saturday with one day off during week

Hours: 5:00AM - 3:00PM
