Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher

• Support and supplement the school district’s Kindergarten curriculum
• Create relationships with district employees in your school
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies and procedures to maintain order among students
• Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, social development and physical health 2 times per year (November and April)
• Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
• Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems.
• Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
• Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate an effective learning environment
• Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants
• Prepare lesson plans to match those of the district
• Complete appropriate paperwork
• Take ownership of your program by coaching and communicating with all staff and responding to minor, immediate issues that may arise
• Communicate with Field Manager and Program Manager about program happenings and needs
• When needs arise, lead KE teachers will step into the Before/After Care program to support other teachers
• Be available to work at least half of the Day Off Programs
• Attend monthly staff meetings and yearly trainings for the purpose of receiving information and conveying information related to program
• Monitors group of students in a variety of settings (e.g. snack time, group or individual activities, playground activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Clean and maintain the classroom/playground environment
• Interact with and engage the children in a positive manner
• Provide constant, supportive and professional communication with staff, parents, and children
• Have the ability to conform to an established work schedule
• Adhere to all policies found in the ACP Employee Handbook
• Provide First Aide/CPR in the event of an Emergency, if certified
• All other tasks as needed

• Ability to successfully pass and maintain all background checks
• Attend yearly trainings (i.e.. CPR, First Aid and Fire Safety)
• Maintain and employee file in accordance with DHS regulations
• Should obtain a BA or MA in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Special Education
• Obtain a teaching certificate
• One year child development work experience in a school/ child care setting
• Lift up to 40lbs
• Repetitive bending, stretching and stooping
