Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated self-starter to assume the role of Sales Manager within our expanding Sales department. The Sales Manager serves as a key leader within the department that will consistently drive productivity upward, motivate team members, and monitor industry trends to maximize revenue opportunities.

Successful candidates will have experience acting as a coach and/or advocate to their team by pro viding support, development, and an encouraging atmosphere to the sales team. The Sales Manager must be creative, high-energy, and knowledgeable in the field to thrive within this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a mentor to the sales team; nurture relationships with each associate to help them achieve their goals; manage, coach, and lead the sales team on a daily basis.

  • Manage the productivity and daily performance of the sales department; assist team with driving revenue and ensuring profitability.

  • Collaborate regularly with leadership on proper staffing levels needed to accommodate client requests and projected growth.

  • Assist with onboarding personnel; provide training and development; work with Human Resources department to ensure new hires have positive onboarding experience.

  • Maintain accurate sales records and KPI reporting.

  • Stay abreast of current industry trends and knowledge, act as in-house expert for business development and sales.

  • Work with the senior management team to set revenue and sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.

  • Increase customer satisfaction ratings and create innovative programs for upselling.

  • Work with senior management to devise and implement innovative go-to-market strategies.

  • Develop positive working relationships with clients; motivate clients with excitement and knowledge; anticipate client needs and offer suggestions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years’ experience of outside or direct B2B sales required.

  • 2+ years’ experience managing and leading a team.

  • Experience in 3PL or Freight Brokerage sales markets highly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.

SKILLS

  • Driven, enthusiastic nature; strong sense of urgency; competitive.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong desire to drive business initiatives; ability to coach sales reps to higher performance.

  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
