Senior Cyber Security Engineer

99999 Consulting LLC is seeking to add a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to our team in the Washington DC
area (not downtown) with a start date in the first quarter of 2022.

We're looking for a detail-oriented, security-minded individual who is passionate about enhancing operations
visibility and filtering down to actionable information by the implementation of apt security systems.

Clearance:
TS/SCI - must have an active clearance and T5 or T5R investigation within the last 51 months.

Responsibilities:

• Provide analysis, design documentation, and assist in implementation of systems management solutions for evaluation by leadership
• Review and analyze emerging technology for suitability for the organization’s requirements, covering a wide array of IT security implements: security information and event management (SIEM) systems, end point detection and response solutions, intrusion detection\prevention systems, vulnerability management solutions, reporting tools.
• Include on-prem, cloud and hybrid approaches in analyses
• Design, plan, implement, test, operate, optimize, and transition network security systems
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, both technical and nontechnical.
• Mentor other technical staff on the team
• Provide knowledge transfer to other technical staff as part of transitioning systems to O&M

Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship
• 6 years’ relevant experience
• Willingness to commute to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB)
• Relevant professional-level certification (e.g. - CCNP Security, CISSP, PCNSA) or Bachelor’s degree
• Expertise in packet level analysis
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Splunk
• Understanding of cybersecurity "best practices" including principles, security protocols and standards material such as NIST and CIS Critical Security Controls
• Experience with on-prem and cloud solutions

Desired Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco security solutions
• Experience with DoD cloud solutions
• Experience with scripting: e.g. – CLI, REGEX, Powershell, Python, etc
