Buyer 1 Apply Now Description/Job Summary A commodity buyer provides stores with the material they need in a timely manner and at a price which enables them to have a market advantage, assists stores with long term bids and technical questions, and is responsible for negotiating contracts, purchasing agreements, and other legal documents. Essential Functions: * Negotiate prices with suppliers. * Answer questions and/or solve problems stores may have with product * Trace shipments. * Replacement cost and alternate species analysis. * Negotiate with vendors on terms, contracts, and purchasing agreements. * Communicate market conditions and forecasts with stores for short and long term bids. Required Skills * Computer Skills: Spreadsheet and Internet Software, Order Processing System, Project Manager Software, Inventory Software * Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business reports, technical procedures and /or government regulations; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
