Our client is one of the top global vertically integrated cannabis companies. They manage the entire supply chain from growing to retail and have multiple well known brands. They are VC backed and are growing at breakneck speed + are working on a platform to connect buyers and sellers. They are building out a marketing team in LA and looking for a Social Media Manager with 7+ years of experience and a B2C background to join their team. No cannabis experience is required but if you've worked on regulated products this would be a plus. This is an awesome opportunity to join a large, quickly growing cannabis company where you'd have the potential to quickly move up!

Essential Functions:

  • Assist CMO with general marketing responsibilities

  • Create social media strategy and policies for all brands and platforms

  • Manage Social Media for multiple brands

  • Create social identities for each brand on multiple platforms

  • Engage daily on all social platforms through posting, stories, etc.

  • Increase following on all platforms using trackable metrics, engagement, and campaigns

  • Engage with followers daily through messaging, replying to messages and comments

  • Customer service and troubleshooting through social media as needed

  • Photography and Videography for social posts

  • Ability to do basic graphics work for social posting

  • Tracking analytics for all social platforms

  • Setting up KPI’s to track results on all platforms

  • Community management of all social messages

  • Manage the creation of internal and external company newsletters and write all content for newsletters

  • Stay current with all trends in culture and relevant industries

  • Create social media marketing campaigns (EX: giveaways)

  • Work with Graphic Designer on social media projects as outlined by CMO

  • Create and write content for all social media

  • Implement an organized structured posting schedule and management platform

  • Balance legal compliance with design aesthetic

  • Assist with media strategy and messaging

  • Participate in marketing activation, brand sponsorships, trade shows, and events as needed

  • Perform research related to social media marketing, brands, events, and business initiatives

  • Identify and target influencers and other tangent relevant brands/companies and maintain virtual relationships with them


    • 7+ years’ marketing experience including at least one job managing social media with B. A. Degree in Marketing or business

    • Combination of freelance and corporate experience preferred

    • Experience working in the cannabis industry or a complex highly regulated industry a plus

    • Demonstrated proficiency in creative design, with a discerning eye for brand appropriateness in messaging and design

    • Strong demonstrated writing skills in both corporate copy and creative mediums

    • Prior experience in industry specific Corporate Advertising

    • Familiarity with marketing, web, and social media analytics, reporting and tracking key performance indicators

    • Understand and practice the tone needed for customer communication

    • Maintain core brand values through the social media voice and communication

    • Familiarity with photography and photo/video styling

    • Familiarity with creating shot lists for photo shoots

    • Ability to work on content and design for multiple different brands and aesthetics simultaneously

    • Good eye for color and deep understanding of hierarchical messaging in marketing and brand materials

    • Familiarity with UI and UX for design layout

    • Familiarity with consumer buying trends and current market trends

    • Ability to stay on brand while simultaneously managing several brands and styles

    • Work experience in social media, web, print, promotions, newsletters, internal communications, newsletters, email blasts, marketing collateral, retail marketing, trade show materials, pitch decks, advertising, print/digital articles, promotional materials, and powerpoint presentations.

    • Familiarity with corporate investor and/or shareholder reporting and associated collateral

    • Familiarity with vertically integrated companies including operations, distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, and retail within a highly regulated, complex industry

    • Intuitive grasp of the impact of design and written content on consumer buying habits

    • Interested in advanced technological solutions for marketing to consumers and for internal tools
