Position Overview
This is a pre-sales role reporting to the Siemens Software CIS Organization (CIS - COMOS Industry Solutions). Duties include alignment of engineering and operation solutions to address customer business issues and challenges, demonstration, and proof of concept of CIS solutions to deliver against customer and industry defined technical requirements. Participation in customer benchmark activities, proof of concepts, workflow development and customer enablement’s. Unique opportunity to impact Siemens CIS product development by representing the voice of the customer within Siemens CIS. This position provides opportunities for a significant amount of customer engagement in support of strategic CIS sales pursuits.

Responsibilities
- Provides pre-sales technical support for the Siemens CIS Engineering and Operations software portfolio, leveraging a combination of application and domain expertise to a variety of Siemens CIS customers in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, and Mining;
- Develops proof of concepts, demonstrations and executes benchmarks of the Siemens CIS Engineering and Operations software portfolio;
- Aids in closing sales by demonstrating value and benefits of solutions; preparing responses to RFI’s and RFP’s as well as other technical documentation;
- Contributes to the development CIS software capabilities by evaluating current product functionality; identifying needs to be filled; monitoring competitive products; analyzing and relaying customer requirements to the Siemens CIS product development team;
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to sales and technical teams;
- Train and mentor client technical leads and subject matter experts in the application of the Siemens CIS products;
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and speaking at technical trade shows or conferences.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor or master’s degree Electrical Engineering with minor in Computer Science or Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science
- Previous experience with Computer Aided Engineering Software in the Electrical and/or Instrumentation domains
- Familiarity with standard engineering documents like single line diagrams, circuit diagrams, loop diagrams, datasheets and similar.
- Familiarity with 3 or more of the following IT topics as they relate to Industrial Operations: cloud services; web applications and web services; Active Directory and domains; networking incl. DNS, DHCP; data storage; applications scripting/programming; cybersecurity; anti-malware; microservices, containers, and orchestration; content management systems; revision management & control systems; IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtual reality; augmented reality; artificial intelligence; machine learning.
- Familiarity with 3 or more of the following data-related topics: Big Data / data lakes; relational databases; data warehouses; OLAP & OLTP; publish-subscribe; OPC; integration platforms; spatial (2D/3D) data; attribute (1D) data; geomatic data - topographic/geographic data. cadastral data; location services – GPS, RFID, ArUco tags/markers; XML; HTTP / HTTPS; web services; web sockets; SOAP/REST/JSON.
- Familiarity with 3 or more of the following Industrial Process topics: real-time control systems – DCS, PCS, SCADA, PLC; safety instrumented shutdown systems (SIS), Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS); process historians; process and/or equipment simulation and modeling; industrial process equipment; industrial process sensors; industrial electrical equipment; CCTV.
- Demonstrated understanding of the various phases of the industrial asset lifecycle and how they relate to IT/OT applications and solution architectures.
- Keen aptitude for industrial business processes – IT/OT capital projects budgeting and execution; operations budgeting and management; project management.
- Position requires strong interpersonal skills, ownership, communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Up to 30% travel.
