The Opportunity:

The key to an organization's growth is strong stakeholder communication that represents and supports its mission, values, and objectives. As a communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization's desired reputation. We're looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you'll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that support the United States' national defense mission.

As a communications specialist on our team, you'll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to advance initiatives focused on developing the military force of the future.

As the organizational advisor of all aspects of oral and written communications, you'll oversee and author talking points, presentation materials, information papers, communications guides, visual aids, posters, email messages, and articles in direct support of DoD general officers, flag officers, and senior executive service members. You'll prepare and facilitate client meetings to help action officers and leaders craft recommendations for their senior leaders. You'll enable a client office to coordinate communications and engagement for a large, geographically dispersed DoD organization. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with tools that include the full range of Microsoft Office 365 applications on unclassified and classified computer networks.

Work with us as we design, develop, and produce effective senior leader communications to change the United States, ally, and partner national defense for the better.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with developing and coordinating communications for senior leaders, including military general or flag officers, national or state legislators, or corporate executives

  • 5+ years of experience in developing recommendations to senior leaders on what audiences they should communicate and engage with to achieve their organization's objectives

  • 5+ years of experience with analyzing the mission, roles, and objectives of an organization and developing communications strategies and materials to achieve them

  • 2+ years of experience working in the DoD or defense organization as a military service member, civilian, or contractor

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas at differing levels of classification to a wide array of audiences, including industry, foreign government officials, military allies, US government officials, and academia

  • Ability to develop information products and talking points at all classification levels

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience working in a Joint Staff or Office

  • Knowledge of Joint Staff processes and procedures

  • Ability to simultaneously manage long- and short-term deliverables in a fast-paced, demanding environment, where flexibility is required to independently answer short-suspense information requests

  • Master's degree in Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, National Defense, International Relations, or International Security

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
