5x5 Telecom, Southern California's fastest-growing Internet Service Provider, is seeking a motivated professional Network Support Engineer to assist the Network Operations Manager, serving as an integral part of our company’s exciting growth. This as a very important role as you will be working with the person responsible for the network as we continue to execute our business plan.

What we need from you to excel as a Network Support Engineer:

  • Day-to-day support on all network related issues such as trouble tickets,
  • SNMP trap alerts and new circuit turn ups.
  • Tier 2 escalation engineer for network inquiries.
  • Perform customer installations including configuration and installation of routers, switches and other equipment as required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and service on network infrastructure.
  • Configure/provision connections (Fast E & GigE, 10G, port bonding, and service upgrade).
  • Perform network audit, inventory, capacity planning, and documentation.
  • Equipment cabling and testing of fiber and copper.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network related service issues as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.
  • Participate in rotational on-call responsibilities.
  • This position includes traveling to other sites for deployments, onsite support and/or maintenance.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred CCNA or similar certification.
  • 2-5 years of network support experience.
  • Experience working in a data center environment.
  • Knowledge of fiber and copper cabling connections.
  • Experience with green built networks.
  • IP routing and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
  • Hands on experience with Cisco ASR, 6500, 3750, and 3500.
  • Dark Fiber testing, troubleshooting and deployments.
  • Computer: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Asana, Google, Zoom

Compensation: $60k-$70k depending on experience & qualifications, plus great benefits including those listed above.
